Laura Anderson is currently a public school administrator in the Paradise Valley Unified School District. She taught regular ed, special ed and gifted ed students before becoming the K-12 Gifted Education and AVID Coordinator. Laura graduated from Arizona State University and then earned her Masters Degree from Northern Arizona University. She has been an educator in PVUSD for the past 30 years. Laura was president of the Arizona Association for Gifted and Talented from 2003-2005 and is a strong advocate for gifted students. Laura is also the district administrator for Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), a program whose purpose is to restructure teaching methods and to open access to the rigorous curricula that will ensure four-year college eligibility to almost all students.
