Administrator Wellbeing

In the spring of 2023, Arizona School Administrators and Northern Arizona University applied for and received a Campus Community Support Program grant to support wellbeing among school administrators in AZ.  An advisory group was formed and has been busy ever since formation.

Project Goals:
*Develop and implement a system for ASA to track membership demographics and impact data on current wellbeing initiatives – all disaggregated by relevant identity characteristics (i.e. race, gender, geography, etc.).
*Learn from the published literature what key patterns, approaches, and challenges exist related to wellbeing among school leaders in the U.S.
*Identify and prioritize issues and strategies for future partnership projects focused on wellbeing among Arizona’s school leaders.

Advisory Group's Work:
*Conducted a literature review of existing studies and survey instruments
*Created an administrator wellbeing survey
*Administered the survey (February 2024)
*Analyzed the data and prepared findings for publication
*Seeking strategies to improve administrator wellbeing & retention
*Planning to repeat the process & continue to learn and support
